GTA 6 leak timeline: the key Cyberleek drops, fact-checked
Since mid-August 2026, an anonymous account called Cyberleek has been posting gameplay footage from what looks like a playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI, weeks before its release. This GTA 6 leak timeline covers the key drops, each dated, sourced and labeled by how much of it is actually confirmed. For a clip-by-clip log of the first weeks, see GameSpot's timeline.
Short answer: Yes, GTA 6 has leaked, repeatedly. Rockstar acknowledged the leaked gameplay videos in a public statement and has been taking them down, but it has never confirmed any specific clip. The leaker uses the drops to promote a crypto meme coin and threatens to release a full build. The game's release date has not changed.
GTA 6 leak status: confirmed vs. unverified
- Gameplay videos of GTA 6 leaked; Rockstar called it "heartbreaking" in its August 26 statement.
- Take-Two asked a federal court in New York for DMCA subpoenas to identify the leaker.
- The release date is still November 19, 2026.
- That any individual clip is from the current build.
- Who Cyberleek is and how the build was obtained.
- The claimed 200 GB+ playable build.
- "GTA 6 free download" files: the 113 GB file that spread in August was padded malware, per tests reported by GameSpot.
- That the nude scenes show how the finished game plays.
- That the 2026 leaker is the 2022 hacker: there's no evidence of a link.
The 2026 GTA 6 leak, step by step

- The "Extended Leek": about 25 minutes of footage with races, car customization, what looks like a first-person camera, and nude scenes of Jason and, briefly, Lucia. Sources: Forbes, Dexerto
- The leaker threatens to release the full build if the coin reaches a $30 million market cap, unless Take-Two puts GTA 6 on disc and apologizes. Source: Kotaku
- A 5:28 free-roam clip of an unclothed Lucia, with an ATM robbery and a parachute side activity. Source: Sportskeeda
- A short close-up clip of Lucia, and a roadmap of coin goals: Mini Tank at $5M, Tank at $9M, Police Shootout at $13M, Fighter Jet at $21M, Train vs Train at $25M, and a "Full 200GB+ playable build" at $30M. The coin drops about 50% to roughly $2.2 million. Sources: Kotaku, Insider Gaming
- Our latest check (UTC): a web search for "Cyberleek" and "GTA 6 leak" found no report newer than October 12, and Rockstar's Newswire has no post about the leaks.

Who is Cyberleek?
Nobody has said publicly. Cyberleek is an anonymous account, possibly a group, that posts watermarked GTA 6 footage, runs polls on what to leak next, and promotes the $CYBERLEEK coin. Forbes notes that no one seems to know who it is or how it got a playable build, and Take-Two's subpoenas are an attempt to find out through the platforms it used. Any claim you see about Cyberleek's real identity is speculation unless it comes from Rockstar, Take-Two or a court.
What Cyberleek wants: discs, an apology, and a coin
The stated cause is the physical edition. GameSpot reports that GTA 6 will only be available as a digital download, with the "physical" version being a code in a box. Cyberleek's demands are a disc release, an end to digital pre-orders, and a public apology. In practice, the coin is never far away: since August, polls decided by how many tokens were bought against each option have picked what gets released, and on October 10 the leaker tied a full-build release to a $30 million market cap, two days after saying it was done asking for crypto (Forbes). It has also offered to sell ad space in upcoming leaks, and Kotaku describes the October push as preparation for another "crypto rug pull". Stop Killing Games, a consumer campaign whose goals overlap with some of these demands, has disowned the leaker.

What Rockstar and Take-Two have done
- Takedowns: DMCA notices against the clips from the first day, which is also why reuploads keep disappearing.
- Subpoenas: Take-Two asked a federal court in New York to order Discord, Microsoft, X and Google to hand over information that could identify the leaker.
- One statement: on August 26, 2026, Rockstar said the leaks had been "heartbreaking" for its team and "not how we intended for you to see the game", apologized for the wait, said the game is nearly finished and stuck to November 19.
- Silence since: no comment on the October drops, according to Dexerto and Kotaku.

Is the GTA 6 leak real?
The footage is very likely Rockstar's material: Rockstar's statement acknowledged that gameplay videos leaked, it keeps filing takedowns, Take-Two's court filings describe the material as stolen, and Eurogamer says the October 8 video "appears to be legitimate". What isn't established is how current the build is. Outlets point to visible bugs, what looks like a first-person camera (which Forbes notes Rockstar has said isn't in the game), and nude scenes in which bystanders don't react, all of which fit an older, debug or modified build better than the finished game.
Older GTA 6 leaks: the 2022 hack and the 2023 trailer
GTA 6 has leaked before, and some posts mix the old material into the new.
- September 2022 hack: on September 18, 2022, more than 90 videos of early GTA 6 development footage were posted on GTAForums. The next day Rockstar confirmed a "network intrusion" in which confidential information, including early development footage, was downloaded from its systems.
- The hacker: Arion Kurtaj, a member of the Lapsus$ group, was given an indefinite hospital order by a UK court in December 2023, after a trial that also covered attacks on other companies.
- December 2023 trailer leak: Trailer 1 was due on December 5, 2023. After it leaked the day before, Rockstar posted it early on December 4.
There is no public evidence linking Cyberleek to the 2022 hack.

How to follow the GTA 6 leak safely
- Don't download anything called a GTA 6 build, beta or "full game". The game isn't out, and the one file that was widely tested, a 113 GB "GTA 6" download, turned out to be padded malware.
- Don't buy the coin to "unlock" leaks. The leaker sets the goals and can move them.
- To avoid spoilers, mute "Cyberleek", "GTA 6 leak" and "Extended Leek" on social apps until November 19.
- For real footage, use Rockstar's channels: the trailers and the Extended Look.

GTA 6 leak FAQ
Has GTA 6 been leaked?
Yes. Gameplay footage has leaked repeatedly since August 18, 2026, and Rockstar acknowledged the leaked videos in its August 26 statement. No full game has been shown to leak; a 113 GB "GTA 6" download that circulated in August was padded malware, according to tests reported by GameSpot.
Is the GTA 6 leak real?
The footage is very likely from a real pre-release build: Rockstar takes it down and Take-Two's court filings call it stolen. How old that build is, and whether scenes like the nude clips reflect the finished game, is not confirmed.
Who leaked GTA 6?
The 2026 footage comes from an anonymous account called Cyberleek, whose owner has not been publicly identified. The 2022 leak was the work of Lapsus$ member Arion Kurtaj, who was given an indefinite hospital order in December 2023.
Did the leak delay GTA 6?
No. Rockstar's August 26 statement kept the November 19, 2026 release date, and it hasn't changed since.
Where can I see the GTA 6 leak?
We don't link to the footage. Reuploads are removed under copyright claims, and links that promise it are a known route for malware and scams. Rockstar's trailers and the Extended Look show the real game.
Will the full GTA 6 build leak?
The leaker says it will at a $30 million coin market cap. On October 12 the coin was at roughly $2.2 million, and there is no way to confirm the leaker holds a full build.
